If it says spice then I'd stay away from it. Different brands label their

products differently. I'm sure that the one Carol uses does not say " spice "

on the label.

Not all [prosciutto is free of spices but the type imported from Italy usually

is. Costco also

has one that is.

With every store bought food, reading labels is A MUST.

I typically am very good about reading labels, something I've been

doing for years becz of food allergies, GFCF etc.

I found one today at the A & P that did not say spice, & also did not

have nitrates; I was thrilled.

You said you use that as bacon? Do you fry it up similar?

It is very lean and dries up fast so I put a little oil in the frying pan ansd

cook it on a low

light and add a litle honey afterwards. You might try adding a few drops of

water to the

pan. It can also be broiled.
