A Happy NOPCO Boston Graduate - ander

Hello All,

I wanted to close the loop on our experience with Boston with the

happy news that we finally had a chance (due to my scheduling

problems, not Dr ) to get in to see Dr at Children's

Hospital in Boston in order to get the 'graduation' sign off for our

son .

started out with a 99% cranial index (brachycephaly).

At his final visit his index was 84%. The doc said that he will also

likely get a 2-3% natural improvement through his natural growth due

to the fact that the timely helmet treatment stopped the growth of the

sides...allowing future growth to continue to the back.

wore the helmet from June - Sept 2008 for appx 12 weeks. During

that time we received our check ups at NOPCO Braintree mostly. We

were always happy with the service we received from both that location

as well as the initial fitting at the location within Children's Hospital.

I hope this helps anyone who is trying to decide between NOPCO and any

other banding options. Our experience with NOPCO was nothing but

positive. Yes, insurance was a struggle but part of that was UHC, part

was NOPCO's slowness...it was eventually paid for almost in full.

Fortunately, the insurance slowness didn't affect my son's head shape

:-)

Best of luck to all of you making these decisions whether to band or

not. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made -- to band. I'm

happy to respond to any emails directly for more info if needed.

I will try to post pictures soon.

Congratulations and thanks for sharing your story. I look

forward to seeing the photos. Your results are even better than my

daughter's (also brachy) in her starband, so it is definitely a good

reference point for nopco.
