Guest guest
Dear Carol, At the time when we switched to cow I thought that Kiki was healed enough to be able to digest the more difficult protiens. It was cheaper also. As a family of five we go through the yogurt very fast. Our grocery bill has gone through the roof. Almost doubled. Well we where wrong. She did not tolerate it well at all. She may have had more damage than we suspected. She made many gains on the goat yogurt that where lost while on the cow. This is when we started to become concern again with the SCDiet being enough. Back on goat she is feeling better. No more " i yas " ...her way of saying intestinal pain....her cramping and diarrhea is gone again too. She is eating better. We hope to see her gain some weight soon. We are also getting ready to try the enzymes again with her, being suggested this time by her DAN! (that promotes SCDiet and met Ealine personaly). He thinks that this will also help her gain some weight. After the last time with the protease experiment, I hope that this plan does not back fire. She has been on the SCDiet for 7 months this time. Where before we where new and unhealed. I also wanted to share that on the pamplet that came with the enzymes (form Kirkmans), that there was a warning that those whith ulcerations should not use protease containing enzymes unless under the direction of a physician. It is her doctors opinion that in seven months on the SCDiet that she will be alright if we introduce them " LOW and SLOW " . Starting at an 1/8 of a dose. Carol or anybody that this pertains to, HOW DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU COULD ONLY TOLERATE THE GOAT YOGURT over the cow? How do you know if the cheese is causing a problem? How do you know if the dry curd is a problem? Do we assume if the cow yogurt didn't work that the other SCD cow things are not tolerated? We are ready to take the cow cheese away...but don't know if we have to. We do not want to be taking away foods away from her SCD list. There isn't much that she can tolerate. She still can not eat the beans, peanuts. She out right refuses to eat the Scd baked goods. So this makes her foods rather limited. Thanks for your concern, it means much to us, that you are helping.
