By now you will have had your pain block, and I hope you're finding that it's going to work for you. Depending upon the type of block you have, I've heard that sometimes it can take several days before the full effects are felt, so I'm curious to see how it's working for you. You asked if anyone had heard of Dr. Conwell at the Cleveland Clinic. I do know that several of our member's have been treated there, and one member, in particular, had quite a bit of medical procedures done there by Dr. Conwell last year, or maybe it was two years ago. I don't remember the woman's full name, yet it doesn't really matter because she hasn't been active with the board for over a year, so she's not here to discuss it. From what I remember, she had quite a bit of a problem and it wasn't resolved successfully. You shouldn't let this concern you, though, since Dr. Conwell has an excellent reputation in the national medical community and the facility is well known for their pancreatic procedures. With any doctor, once you've met them and had your individual case revewed and discussed, you should be able to determine for yourself if you're comfortable with the doctor and his recommendations. Since each of us have different problems or different causes for our pancreatitis, i.e; obstructive, calicific or hereditary, we all need to be fully reviewed and the recommended treatment for one person may be totally different than for another. I wish you much success with your appointment. Please let us know what the outcome is, and what Dr. Conwell recommends for you. With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Guest guest
Hi Heidi, Thanks so much for the impute on Dr Conwell. I am ready to meet him. My GI has Chosen to send me there, since Dr Fogel is wanting to hold off on the Treatment from the Pancreas. My sister and I had a long talk with my GI on Sunday before he released me from the Hospital in Fort Wayne. Dr Schultz had them put the Transpyloric tube back in. He is also trying to get the surgeon to have it done permant. I am seeing a surgeon next week for a possible port placement per my family doctoe he his worried because I am averaging 10-15 sticks for labs and IVs. I have a website that I started to keep people up to date. I wish my mom would had worked on it while I was in the Hospital. http://www.caringbridge.org/in/lsbaker Leanne > > <I am home I am going to have the Pain Block done tomorrow.
