Guest guest
Hi, me again, up late with pain. I realised that I should have said a bit more once I read the message from the group owner, so please allow me to elucidate with more of " my story " and I ask forgiveness in advance if I transgress on any rules. I am in Southern Florida, happily married to a very wonderful guy who is also my caretaker and support. I have no real connection to my bio- family. I have a good job and they are relocating my hubby & I to SoCal on 6-29. I am glad because I hear good things about the USC Pancreatitis program in LA. Anyone have any info about that? My job is new, just over 90 days, and it's going very well, but I am hiding my CIP from them, just glossed it over as a " pancreatic insufficiency " which explains why I never touch alcohol. I think that the less they know the better, I don't feel comfortable letting them know everything that is wrong with my health yet. So far I have only missed one day there, and gotten 2 raises and a promotion all before 90 days. It's a dream job for me and I won't lose it. I am an Internet Fraud investigator, and that means that I bust those sicko guys in chats that spam kids with porno links, among other job duties. I love my job but I put in 55 hour weeks too. I should mention that they love me and don't want me to burn out so they are looking at maybe making me a manager in California and getting me some help. I am 38, no kids (Doc says I best not try, either) and 2 cats, 2 rats fill out the rest of my world. I'll stop now, but I am open to IM's as well as emails. I'd like to make some new friends with this common interest, my friends don't really know what to say or suggest beyond sympathy. I am a bit scared about changing docs and trying to manage pain with a new doc in a new state, but my current doc is willing to write a detailed letter for me and answer phone calls, etc, and (I think) give me 2 months worth of meds til I can get a new doc in Orange County. Currently I am on oxycodone 3 to 5 times daily, with bentyl for the IBS and phenergan for the nausea. No ER runs in the last 60 days, which is a new record for me. Many week long stays in the hospital since diagnosis. Hope that fills in some blanks and does not break any rules. I look forward to getting to know you all and hope that you are all having a good/pain free day. Guest guest
Welcome Margaret...you can get the absolute BEST support here. I've been a part of the group for a few months, then they removed my gall bladder (saying it was that it was simply not functioning -- i.e., I had no stones)...I was hoping against hope that I would be fine after that but unfortunatelyo, it's been downhill ever since. This is a wonderful group of people here, TRULY!! Again welcome...sorry it has to be under these circumstances. Guest guest
Margaret, I just read your longer email and saw that you will be relocating to So. California. I'm the California State Representative for PAI so, when you get here, feel free to contact me at anytime. Let me know when you do get here and I'll email you my contact information offline so that you can get ahold of me whenever you want to. Kimber -- Kimber Vallejo, CA hominid2@...
