Guest guest
I was wondering if anyone would be interested in helping me figure out the actual breakdown of costs if I end up having to self-pay. I know there is now a $1,000 up front cost. The clinic has you pay $11,000.00 up front and ????? I should know by the end of this week the final answer from my ins. co. (not that I won't appeal a denial), but my husband and I were looking at a possible loan of some sort to cover everything. Any help at all would be appreciated. Thank you, Tammy in Wisconsin

Guest guest
Tricia, Did you feel like the Center was a good place? Do you feel it is still overall less expensive? I am going to self pay and hope for a date very soon. <my packet will be hand carried today. I would like to here from others that went to the Center. Guest guest
Glenda, Just as a note, I checked into the Center option because I am self-pay and $7000 flat fee was appealing to me. Last Thursday in an e-mail from Barbara, I was told that Dr. R. is only performing surgery at DRH right now and that Center is not an option. Just thought you might want to know. Guest guest
Hi, I wonder if it is because on the 31st he had a patient who had no trouble with the surgery but had a terrible reaction to the anesthesia. He worked all day at to save her life. She was probably healthy because she was scheduled at , but maybe he wished he had all the services of DRH at his disposal to treat her. That is surely just speculation, but it is what came to my mine as soon as you said he wasn't using anymore. Guest guest
Marjory, Hadn't heard that but surely it must factor into his decisions. I just was looking for any cost cutter. Guest guest
was FABULOUS! It was nicely decorated, the nurses and staff were *wonderful*...it was just a great place for me. I don't like hospitals...they are okay to visit, but I could never get out of there fast enough when I was in to have my kids! I wouldn't trade my experience at for anything. As for the costs...I don't know if DRH is going to always be running as low in cost as they did for Beth. The fee at is a flat fee, and last I heard the fee at DRH was not. So you could end up getting a refund, but you won't know right away. That is an extra $4,000 you need to come up with for the day of surgery, not a small chunk of change. I highly recommend , if you are approved to have surgery there. Guest guest
Hi Marg, Dr Rutledge said she came out of it fine. I wish I remembered her name. I just read another post that he is still using so I was probably wrong anyway. The MET-RX that I told you about doesn't taste bad, but when I put in the blender, it makes it too frothy and that makes my stomach not feel so great. I don't look forward to that every morning. I am doing just fine, trying things like mashed potatoes and refried beans, everything is alright but I still can't tell when I should stop. Warm Regards Marjory first Ca girl 8/30/00 285/268 - In MiniGastricBypass (AT) egroups (DOT) com, mmhammy@a... wrote: > How is the person that happened to now? Is she out of danger?
