How long have you been on the diet?

Has your weight stabilized? (ie. not gaining or losing?) I had a

lot of hunger preSCD and when I began, but when I reached a good

weight for my height my appetite return to a normal level.

Hi Sheila,

I have been on it for about a month. I have lost about 4-5 pounds. I

am almost 5'9 and weigh only 127. I wound like to weigh at least 10

pounds more. All my clothes are loose. I can't have the peas or

lentils yet, way too much gas.

Thanks for responding.

Sincerely,

June

Depending on what you are able to eat, and as Sheila states, how long you have

been on

SCD, here are a few high calorie foods:

avocado

nut butter

yogurt made with cow cream and dripped

coconut

dried fruits

The body can respond to the seven tastes and they are stimulating to the

appetite.

I am not sure if it is legal and look forward to the experts view

but I would be thinking of a squeeze of lemon- or just one slice in water- to

give the 'sour' taste,

and finely minced herbs such as parsley or coriander on vegetables for the

'uomi' or savoury taste

a good olive oil gives a rather nice 'oil' flavour (early harvest is more

acidic than late harvest which is usually mild)

The greek method of adding some lemon juice with olive oil to veg adds both

nutrients and a new dimension to the taste experience.

Hopefully the meds for C. diff will have you feeling better soon.

Between the two (The meds and c. diff.) it isn't suprising you have

decreased appetite.

Some have found Saccharomyces boulardii to be helpful for C. diff

infections also.

Thanks Sheila and Carol and everyone who responded to my post. I am

eating 1/2 an avocado per day and nut butter as well.

Have a great day,

June-
