Nut milk, according to the table of The Stages on the Pecanbread website, can be started at Stage 2 but in terms of actual time, I don't know how long after the intro diet it would be and imagine it depends on your progress. Guest guest
Hi Merika, > Sorry about all the questions, I just have to know, lol!! > > When is it ok to introduce nut milk? Elaine's site says not until 6 > months on the diet. Elaine was referring to canned milk. Please see http://lyris.dundee.net/read/messages?id=265858#265858 If you decide to try nut milk, it should be homemade, diluted and started with small amounts and gradually increased. > Pecanbread site says during stage 2, before all > the nut flours. I'm confused! Is it easy to digest or not? It is easier to digest as long as it isn't overdone. If people try to use it as a substitute it for milk or juices and end up drinking *a lot* it can overwhelm the body. When you seperate the " pulp/meat " of the nut from the milk you are getting a concentration of the nutrients; if undiluted it may be more than you are able to digest. > Also, has anyone made nut milk by soaking the nuts in salt water first > and then dehydrating them, and then making the milk with Elaine's > instructions? > > I got the idea from Nourishing Traditions and weston price, talking > about how nuts are easier to digest if soaked first (it removes the > enzyme inhibitors).
