Guest guest
Thanks, Mimi. I guess I just needed reassurance that it was die off and not something else going wrong. I was expecting everything except the heart rate going up and beating hard. Just kind of scared me with my existing heart problems.... Thanks again for the support, ~ > >Reply-To: pecanbread >To: pecanbread >Subject: Re: Awful die off?? >Date: Mon, 21 Aug 2006 17:40:59 -0400 > >, > >This is die off! >Here are some tips: >Activated Charcoal for a brief time.Do not take it during meal times. > >Some have found that epsom salts baths can also relieve some sypmtoms >of die-off. Guest guest
By the way.... I'm only eating meat and eggs up until about ten minutes ago. I wanted to go two days with things I absolutely knew agreed with me. I added a few slices of goat cheese this afternoon, and just now, I ate a tiny bit of grape juice jello. Hopefully that will help with the energy. ~ > >Reply-To: pecanbread >To: pecanbread >Subject: Re: Awful die off?? >Date: Mon, 21 Aug 2006 17:40:59 -0400 > >, > >This is die off! >Here are some tips: >Activated Charcoal for a brief time.Do not take it during meal times. > >Some have found that epsom salts baths can also relieve some sypmtoms >of die-off. Guest guest
<<I'm only eating meat and eggs up until about ten minutes ago.>> .. Eating only meat and eggs for three days.... well, I'm not surprised you didn't feel well. You NEED some carbs of some kind. You're not doing SCD properly if you've eliminated ALL carb sources. Guest guest
Thanks, Carol. I did add some grape juice jello which helped a little....but am now having stomach irritation because of it. Guest guest
, You need to have some carbs or you will have big trouble. It may not always result in the best bowels but I believe over time they will heal and begin to accept it. The intro diet should only be done for a max of 5 days, even if you still have tummy issues you need to move on somewhat. The intro too long can be dangerous. Charlene UC 8 years SCD almost 6 years Thanks, Carol. I did add some grape juice jello which helped a little....but am now having stomach irritation because of it. Guest guest
In that case, I will continue with the SCD until I am totally convinced it will not work for me. It's the gastroparesis that's messing things up. I'm almost positive. My stomach just does not want much at all. Onward I go, with meat, eggs, a touch of cheese, a touch of bone broth, and grape jello. I'll try green beans, cooked, and pureed in a day or so...... Thanks guys. Don't know what I'd do without you! ~ > >Reply-To: pecanbread >To: <pecanbread > >Subject: Re: Re: Awful die off?? >Date: Mon, 21 Aug 2006 20:51:24 -0400 > >, > >You need to have some carbs or you will have big trouble. Guest guest
Carol and Ronnie, It was my understanding that ANY SCD legal carb would not feed yeast. That's the whole idea of the diet, right?? ~ > >Reply-To: pecanbread >To: pecanbread >Subject: Re: Awful die off?? >Date: Tue, 22 Aug 2006 13:07:52 -0000 > > > > > > > > I was eating corn, and small amounts of sugar. Guest guest
Ronnie, You said: <<I often wonder about using too much grape juice, even though it is a monosaccharide and not a dissacharride. It's still very sweet, as is the honey too. For years I struggled with anxiety and stayed away from all sweet things which only added to my being reactive. Now I am using the honey and grape juice but wonder if these two be feeding the bad bacteria at all? >> Be sure to read the messages I re-posted today on yeast and honey. Guest guest
Well I'm not using any honey at all.....and I'm only eating grape juice jello and I just ate a spoonful of green beans, pureed. I wouldn't think either of those will be detrimental to fighting a yeast infection, but my tummy sure hurts. I'm willing to put up with the discomfort if there's any (ANY!) chance that my body will eventually tolerate these foods better. ~ > >Reply-To: pecanbread >To: pecanbread >Subject: Re: Awful die off?? >Date: Tue, 22 Aug 2006 18:12:26 -0000 > > > > > > Carol and Ronnie, > > > > It was my understanding that ANY SCD legal carb would not feed yeast. >That's > > the whole idea of the diet, right?? > > > > ~ >I am not familiar with this. Guest guest
Merika, Somewhat better. I've started the cashew yogurt, which I seem to be tolerating fairly well (die off symptoms, but not too bad). I did sneak in some pear sauce today and am doing fairly well with that too. But only like five spoonfuls. That was a bit much, so I have to cut down a little. Man, this is a slow process, isn't it? :-) ~ > >Reply-To: pecanbread >To: pecanbread >Subject: Re: Awful die off?? >Date: Wed, 30 Aug 2006 00:11:47 -0000 > >Hi , > >How are you feeling now?
