Guest guest
Hi , I'd be glad to meet (I think you mean for dinner, not surgery) on the evening of 10/03. Only problem is that I don't think we are supposed to eat too much the night before surgery. I know I'll be trying to get a good night's sleep too (don't know if that will be possible). I don't know of any other littermates - anyone else on for 10/04? My husband and I are staying at the Hawthorne Suites. I will be in clinic in the morning on 10/03 - depending on how long clinic takes, I may stick around to meet you before the afternoon clinic, . vs. Durham > > > > > > > Would someone please explain the difference from > > having the procedure > > > at or at Durham. Guest guest
I just wanted you to know I changed my clinc on 10/03/00 to the 1 p.m. - we will be arriving late and didn't want to miss (sleep through) a thing in clinic! Are you and other littermates up for surgery that night? Also, would any of the Raleigh/Durham local postops like to join us? on Surgery date 10/04/00 > Look under the Grumpy surgeons link on the Web > site for Dr. R's responses to the concerns > - www.clos.net > > - waiting for MGB 10/04/00 > > > vs. Durham > > > > Would someone please explain the difference from > having the procedure > > at or at Durham. Guest guest
Thanks ebbieday, I hadn't planned on eating a big meal the night before surgery - just didn't think I'd be comfortable because I know I'll be excited and anxious that night. I have heard on the board that it is a good idea to eat yogurt the night before the surgery - something about coating your stomach. That's probably an " old wives tale " - but I think I'll stick to something light anyway. - waiting in Chicago - MGB 10/04/00 vs. Durham > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Would someone please explain the difference > > > from > > > > > having the procedure > > > > > > at or at Durham. Guest guest
It's the third blue bard down on the home page - Why are other doctors so grumpy about the Mini-Gastric Bypass? You can also get to it on the menu down the left side of the home page, below the alternating gray and no background secion of links. It is the 9th one down the list. - waiting in Chicago - MGB 10/04/00 vs. Durham > > > > > Would someone please explain the difference from > > having the procedure > > > at or at Durham. Guest guest
Dinner is what I meant. We are at the Hawthorn also. I don't think there are any restrictions the night before surgery but I will try to find out. I won't want a late night either so something simple would be good. Everyone talk's about Cattleman's which is probably steak. I'm sure there are other choices. Any suggestions postops???? -- In MiniGastricBypass (AT) egroups (DOT) com, " M. Guest guest
Well...now that you asked... :-) I heard Dr. R. say in clinic one time that if you eat heavy the night before surgery, it can distend the intestines, thus possibly making the bypass shorter. Personally, I said *goodbye* to steak at Outback two nights before surgery. The night before surgery I had *Uncle Herschell's Favorite* at Cracker Barrell on the brain. But when I walked in to Cracker Barrell, suddenly I wanted salad, so that's what I got, and couldn't finish it either. Chalk it up to a case of nerves or something, go figure.
