Guest guest
Eating nothing but banana and pear is not okay, obviously. If he is self-limiting to these foods, maybe that would be okay for a very short time, but I would draw the line. Maybe you could tell him he can only have banana in the form of banana pancakes.... or cooked pears in the form of pear sauce used in muffins. You can use the sneaky muffin and sneaky pancake recipes on www.pecanbread.com to get some meat and veggies into him. I think I would go read up on the website in the " Overcoming Difficulties " section also.... about how to deal with picky eaters. You are in charge here... not him. But, he might be a handful when it comes to power struggles over food. I don't know what the underlying issue might be for him, if there is a PHYSIOLOGICAL reason why something is just " not right " in his body .... and he's self-limiting for those reasons. ??? What about yeast issues? Does he get any SCD yogurt yet? Or supplemental probiotics? Yeast can be very opportunistic as the bad bacterial colonies die-off. Yeast can often move in to that space and take over unless you repopulate the gut with good flora somehow. If this was the case with Austin, the yeast might be quite happily thriving away on nothing but bananas and pears. Patti Refusing to eat My son has been eliminating things from his diet slowly. At first he stopped eating any kind of meat(3 weeks ago), I was still OK beacuse he was eating eggs and I thought he's getting his proteins that way, however the past 2 days he has only been eating bananas, pear, a little bit of popsicles. Not muffins or cookies( his favorite things). He went through a year of no protein and he got very sick, I don't know if I should just watch for 2 more days or just stop giving him bananas and pear. He may have 2 bananas and 2 pears a day. That's all. Any exprience with this? Sara mom to Austin 6 yrs old ASD, Scd since July 4th
