17 month old too late for band

hello!

I'm new to the group.

My baby is now 17 month old, he was a preemie born at 26 weeks. His plagio was

noticed very early but his pediatricians kept telling me it would fix by

itself.When he was 13 month I decided to see a specialist too late by then of

course. We were told it's mild and that it's too late for anything other than

surgery which she doesn't recommend because it's " only cosmetic " . Everytime I

look at him from the top I get enraged with the pediatrician and myself for

trusting too much. So I'm bringing him tomorrow again to the craniofacial

surgeon to ask more and try to get over it, I guess. But is it really only

cosmetic? And is it relly too late for bands?
