Guest guest
Becky, I am not sure about pear.... but usually, applesauce (or cooked apples any other way) is considered somewhat " binding " . In other words, it would have the opposite effect.... and firm up the stool. The same is supposedly true about ripe banana. On day 9, you are still very likely to be seeing die-off symptoms.... and runny poo could be how it is manifesting for him. I would not worry too much about the amount of chicken right now. But, can you rotate and maybe use turkey for the nuggets sometimes? Or would he not accept that? Have you tried introducing some butternut squash? I can't remember if this is something he can tolerate. It would be filling.... and especially good in the form of the squash fries. Patti posted previously no response - so posting again On day 9, G is only eating nuggets, apple/pear/zucchni sauce and cheese. Could problems arise from too much chicken. And the cheese consumption has declined and now he seems to prefer the applesauce. Lunch and dinner combined he usually eats 8-10 chicken nuggets a day. His pooh is runny. I started thinking that typically people give a baby pear juice to induce pooh. So i'm thinking then his consumption of the steamed pears and/or pear/applesauce will continue to instigate runny pooh. We aren't used to runny pooh on a daily basis here at our house. His behavior seems the same to me, just more agitation because he's hungry (but he self-limits to particular food). Will someone please clarify the apple/pear sauce question, when is too much chicken question and pooh question. Thank you Anxious mom Becky

Guest guest
Patti I will lay off the pears, give plain applesauce and bananas (my problem is getting them to ripen fast enough). I will try turkey. I've seen the squash fries receipe and will try that too. Thanks for replying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guest guest
Getting ripe bananas is a major challenge sometimes. I always seem to have three bunches.... all at various stages. The little corner store at the end of my street hardly has ANY produce, but they do have a small amount of bananas. Only problem is, they are usually wayyyy too overripe for everyone else in the neighborhood. The store owner can't sell them... so he GIVEs them to ME! Lucky, lucky me! I need to run down there tonight b/c all my bananas are too green. Putting them in a paper bag and just folding over the top (but leave some open space in the bag.... not wrapped down tight) seems to help them ripen faster. Sometimes it's just not fast enough, though. Gee.... I could probably start a small business Fed Ex-ing you guys the " free " leftover bananas from my corner market.
