Guest guest
Sally, I do relate to all the issues you bring up. I am not sure it is how much stress we have, because everybody suffers from stressful events, but it is how we are able to deal with the stress. I have various techniques for helping when I get stressed - they don't always work, of course!!! Take some time for yourself, walk for 10 minutes; listen to music; have a relaxing bath; if you are so inclined praying helps. Do NOT let yourself have an edible treat!!!! Try and do something like that every so often during the day, and try to block out the particular issues that are on your mind. Tell yourself, I will think about that later. Also one of the best pieces of advice I got was when I was looking for a diagnosis. I was having a rash on my leg biopsed, the doctor said don't go through all this " why me? " Just accept that sh*t happens! Fortunately I followed his advice. I agree with Squeek, you can always find someone who is worse off. I don't know why this should help but it does!! I always knew I was the lucky one in our family, my younger sister had Down's syndrome and related health issues. But I had more opportunities in life just because of that. She died last year, so I am still the lucky one. Maybe it depends on whether you think the glass is half full, or half empty. Of course another helpful technique is writing to the group and hearing from them. We all have that one!! Hang in there, things will get better. Guest guest
" We can cope or we can lay down. Its up to us " I think there are many way to cope! so this is what I wrote. We can cope or we can lay down. Face life with a smile or choose a frown. We can get mad or act like a clown. That is our decision. There is a time to cope and a time to lay down. A time to smile. A time to frown. A time to get mad. A time to clown. That is God's decision. I have many ways to cope. Sometimes I lay down! I smile a lot and try not to frown. I get mad if I must, but mostly I clown. That's my decision! Sue, how about you? blue

Life is sometimes not so nice. Life isn't fair! What did I do wrong? I asked, Why do I have to pay the price? He said, don't go through that, " why me? " stuff! He's right, I don't have to hear it twice! I learned to accept that... shit just happens! I've learned to follow his advice. Thanks to him and you! blue
