Vito,

No this would not be legal as it sounds an aweful lot like taking psyllium.

Fiber is not really a healthy thing for an irritated gut. Right now, the best

fiber you can get is from cooked and peeled veggies.

How long have you been on SCD? did you do the intro diet? What are you eating

now and are you taking any supplements.? It will be easier to help you if we

can have a run down of what you are eating and taking.

Thanks, Charlene

Hello,

Is acacia fiber legal? If not are there any

fiber supplements out there that are?

Hello Vito,

<< Is acacia fiber legal? >>

No, acacia fiber is not legal. It comes from the gum of the acacia

tree and is indigestible. It would end up feeding the wrong microbes

and you'd be back in the cycle again.

If you are looking for sources of fiber on the diet you can have both

legal soluble fiber and legal insoluble fiber. Here are some

examples of SCD legal foods with soluble fibre:

Fruits: apples, bananas, grapefruit, oranges, strawberries, avocado,

papaya

Vegetables: carrots, peas,

Legumes: lentils, dried peas, beans

Some examples of legal insoluble fiber foods:

Fruits: apples, melons, lemons, grapefruit, pears

Vegetables: peppers, greens, celery, onions, broccoli

Nuts

With either kind of fiber it is important to drink plenty of fluids.

If you are experiencing constipation there are two great links on

Go to the " Knowledge Base " and then to

1. " Constipation " and
