Guest guest
, I would definitely pull the supplements back and re-start them one at a time. There is no other way to tell if one of these is the culprit. Enzymes *should* help you guys tolerate more foods.... but not everyone tolerates the same enzyme. You may have to try a different one. Enzymes can also trigger more die-off, though. ONLY way to tell is to pull everything and trial each one alone. Patti Scdophilus from GI Pro Health to make fermented veggies? HI! I haven't posted for awhile now, but things are going pretty well. The family has been SCD since September 2006 so nearly 3 months. Last week we got our supplements and started folinic acid (as per Dan protocol), Kirkman's Nu-thera with P5P, Kirkmans calcium, Kirkman's Enzyme- complete/DPP IV, and Kirkman's vitamin c caps. Then about a 6 days after starting them everyone got really grumpy. My ASD 6 yr old started with a crazy manic laugh and hurt one of the neighbor kids. (Since SCD this has been almost a non-existant occurance.) So I think we introduced too many things at one time. He has tested as deficient in so much that it seems ut will take forever to get him to test all the supps he needs. Can I make sourkraut juice using Scdophilus from GI Pro Health? We are out of our lactobacilis acidolphilis. I am also confused as to what is best to do when it comes to introducing new foods. It seems like everything we try bothers us some- my husband is losing weight and feeling very anxious about that as he was skinny before he started the diet. Thanks in advance for your help. Guest guest
, My bet is that it is the calcium that is causing the regression. Tamarro has done research in that area and believes that children with ASD should avoid calcium supplements. I hope that she can comment on this. Guest guest
OK. A lot of talk has been going on about enzymes lately. Is this a good idea for pretty much everyone? How would I know which are good ones, scd legal ones, ect? How would I know if iel would benefit from taking them, or any of the rest of us for that matter? Feel free to post it, or email me off list. Meleah scd 05/06 iel 3.5yrs. asd, Ethan 5yrs., Mark 18mths., both nt Scdophilus from GI Pro Health to make fermented veggies? HI! Guest guest
Hi , <<I haven't posted for awhile now, but things are going pretty well. It might not be that he doesn't tolerate all these things but that it is an overload of new items. If you stop everything and let things settle back down you may have better luck slowly reintroducing the supps one at a time. That will also allow you to see if he doesn't tolerate one or more of the supps. The enzymes especially may cause some die off so take those slow. I'd think that the enzymes may be a good place to start as they'd allow you to digest more. << Can I make sourkraut juice using Scdophilus from GI Pro Health? We are out of our lactobacilis acidolphilis.>> To make fermented vegetables you should use yogurt starter, not a probiotic (like the SCDophilus). Sauerkraut can be made either with or without a starter. It has plenty of natural good bacteria: Lactobacillus plantarum. I made some in the spring and it was fantastic - tangy. If you prefer, you can make sauerkraut with yogurt starter. There is a link for an article on SCD and fermented food at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/pecanbread/message/48631 << I am also confused as to what is best to do when it comes to > introducing new foods. What types of food are you introducing? What seems to be well tolerated now? Sheila, SCD Feb. 2001, UC 22yrs mom of and daniel
