Guest guest
Wow that is a lot to happen. Sounds like an excellent way to get to the bottom of things. If you are a member of the research, will your insurance co still be billed for any treatments etc,?. She also does the islet cells too. That is interesting. Maybe when/if you need the total they will have the auto transplant down pat and you might not have to worry about being a brittle diabetic. That would be more then wonderful. Do you have to sign up for the whole portion or were you allowed to try it for a few months first? I know you can pull out anytime you wish as is the case with all human research participants. This Brentall; is she a micro surgeon? That is the big deal with my getting the tp/ict. Getting the microsurgeon to harvest the cells; and of course the necessary equipment. It sounds like a very good study to be in. It should be interesting to say the very least what your mother's medical history will show. I would also like to read the paper on childhood pancreatitis. I beleive that all those years with back spasms were actually my panc. The pain is the exact same and it did not take long for me to recognize it at all! Actually your practically a perfect candidate for this type of study. I'm proud of you, it take a lot of courage to sign up for one of those. Dont worry about the ercp, its not so bad, no so great. Just make sure your totally sedated. An eus is a piece of cake. But I also like to be well anesthestized for that too. When they call you tomorrow with the info ask them about the anes and let them you then that you are difficult to " sleep " and will need more anes then just sedation. Trust me on this one sweety, I have been on both sides of the bed for these things and anes is a definite must have. Please let meknow when you have the eus scheduled.
