Hi ,

hope you feel better soon!

In general I don't think that kids with CF have a greater risk to

catch something due to their CF. Some kids do catch everything and

some don't. But if they get the flu then CF kids are more affected

because of their CF. If they culture bacteria there is the risk of a

super infection. That's why the flu shot is recommended for all pwcf

and why many cf docs prescribe antibiotics with every infection, even

if it's viral.

Wash your hands and keep distance to prevent a contagion. In other

words stay in bed and let your hubby do the rest :-))

I hope you feel better soon! When your husband gets home, go to bed, shut

the door and sleep.

All will be well, and if its is not, who cares! Tomorrow is a new day.

i'm sick, how will that affect my child with cf?

Hi all, IM sick, really really sick...I have a fever of 102 and I feel like

crap. I haven't been feeling well for the last couple of days but I chalked

it

up to being exhausted. is slightly warm, I felt it probably would be

better if I kept him from school just to make sure he isn't coming down with

something too. My question is how contagious am I, does he have a greater

chance

of getting what I have. I barely can stay upright, My husband is going to

come home early from work because frankly I am not going to make it. I have

chest

pains, backache, fever, chills, blurry vision and I'm nauseous. I worry

because has already missed nine days of school, granted I have

doctors

notes for most of the days he was absent. Yesterday, I had his IEP changed,

he is

now on intermittent homebound for school, so when he misses more than 2 days

in a row then they will send out a teacher to help get caught up, so

it won't affect his schooling. Well, I'm going to lie down and hope the

Tylenol

kicks in. Thanks to all,

, mommy of 5 years old w/cf/adhd and 2 years old no CF
