vegetable glycerin

Forgive my ignorance...is " vegetable glycerin " the same thing as " glycerin " ?

The legal supplement additive list on pecanbread.com says glycerin is legal. I

looked at a Grapefruit Seed Extract at Whole Foods that says it contains

" vegetable glycerin " . Is this OK?

Glycerin is legal as an addtivie. Although a little glycerin is used in Frontier

vanilla, I

have never heard of it being suggested for use as a sweetener for SCD. Honey

and

sacharrin are the mainstays. here is what Elaine said about glycerin:

" Glycerin, Legal, Since glycerin is not a sugar to begin with, the " ol " at the

end ... Glycerin

is considered to belong to the fat family. So does glycerol. ... "

Can you post the exact ingredients in the sweetener you are concerned about?

Hi ,

Sorry, but no, to using the glycerin as swetener. It is okay in small

amounts, like for meds or in vanilla extracts etc, but not in large

amounts like using for pancakes etc..
