My daughter, Jennelle, has CP-diagnosed this past December- but symptoms for 6-7 years. She is still in denial- very difficult to talk about the future with her- she's 17. She is however starting to come around and seek new info. Hi : I had the total pancreatectomy and islet cell transplant. That is a surgery that involves the pancreas being removed and the islets taken from the pancreas and transplanted into the liver. If one isn't diabetic the doctor is able to perform this surgery. If the patient has enough islets he or she will not be diabetic. Is Jennelle diabetic? Dr. Sutherland operated on me and he is the best. He just operated on , a member of this group. She is only 16 and I thought she might be of help to your daughter. I will put in the subject line Jennelle and 's name so they both will read this post and maybe can help Jennelle. At least she can relate with her since their ages are so close. Please let me know how Jennelle is progressing. Shirley
