Guest guest
Hello all, As many of you know, there are an abundance of fruit flies with bananas. I have a suggestion that works for me. I take the banana peel (after using the banana) and place it in a disposable plastic container with the lid slightly off to the side. In a few hours I quickly snap the lid on and the flies are trapped inside. I then toss the container. I do this as many times as is necessary to rid my kitchen of those pesky flies. If the lid doesn't snap on quickly, and the flies escape, just do it again until they are all inside. You can either throw out the container, or let the flies go outside. I hope this was helpful. Guest guest
fresh basil in the bowl with the bananas keeps the fruit flies away, too. Guest guest
Here is one more idea for anyone having a fruit fly problem. Just twice in my adult life, I've had to really do battle to get rid of fruit flies and I did what my mom had done once when I was young. I squirted some dish soap into a big bowl with a cup of vinegar and then filled the bowls with tap water. I sat the 2 of these bowls in 2 different spots in my kitchen and once or twice a day emptied them and replaced the sudsy mixture until the problem came under control. The vinegar attracks the fruit flies and the suds trap them. Sheril --------------------------------- All-new Yahoo! Mail - Fire up a more powerful email and get things done faster.
