Guest guest
When your child goes on antibiotics how soon do you see results? I am concerned because my son usually has positive results within days of starting antibiotics. October 5th he was on Cephalex 3x per day for 14 days. A minor cough lingered...November 26th he started again on Cephalex 3 x perday for 14 days - no improvement if anything I would say he is worse! I have placed a call to the clinic and the pediatrician. No news back from them yet. So I thought I would see how many others have had similar experiences and what did you do? Thanks in advance Christen mom to 4 wcf and Peyton 3 months no cf )
Guest guest
as a nurse I would have to say it is time to try a different antibiotic it seems the one you have is ineffective Maureen christen_28 wrote: When your child goes on antibiotics how soon do you see results? Guest guest
Hi Christen! It is nice to see you posting. A few questions. Do you know what cultures? Is he on Tobi? Do you guys still go to CHOC? It seems to me they should at least change the antibiotics, get a throat (or sputum if he can cough up stuff) culture and see what is growing. love, M mom of Nick age 21 nocf and age 19 wcf
Guest guest
Christen, I know that when that happens it often means that there is no response anymore to that antibiotic. I was like that with many of them. From age 8, then 12, then 18. Recently (at 24) I stopped responding to Cypro. Usually they just move to something else. Though I know it is scary. When Cypro stopped working, and it had done such a good job for so long, it freaked me out. I'm sure after a while your doctor will simply move on to something else. Guest guest
i agree with , to me it sounds like Pa, and something stronger is needed. TOBI most likely.
