" I would feel badly if someone canceled a test or an appointment that they needed based on what I said. The words, `that they needed.' What you share about having a growing tumor, benign or not, makes sense to remove it, even if it isn't pressing on your nerve. There may be, however, a need to know the extent of involvement of the growth to the proximal nerve, prior to attempting to excise it. But, you should ask your doctor. The days of believing a potential painful procedure is `only a mosquito bite' are over, though.
