Hi Sally,

I received blood in 79 and also donated my own blood in 86 thru 87. I even

received a " pin " for donating a certain amount. This was before the RP

reared it's ugly head of course.

This is very interesting.

, as for your survey, yes I have had transfusions. Within days of

each other, but still..........transfusions from different donors.

Thanks for all the great info here.

BTW: I am a total organ donor even now. I know they will not be able to use

my organs for transplants, but if they can learn anything about RP or help

anyone else in any other way, then I feel like I did the right thing. I'm

not saying this is what everyone should do. It is a very personal decision.

That's just what I have decided to do.

susan, I was told never to give blood or to donate any of my

organs under any condition. My dr. told me that is because they didn't know

if RP could be transmitted to someone else, I was told this in 79!
