''Anya 3 yrs. 10 mo.

UC diagnosed 5-24-06

Symptoms started 12/05

Scd started 5/28/06

Meds Mercaptopurine and iron

5 days ago finished taking Prednisone

2 days ago finished a 10 day intake of Cephalexin due to reaction to shrimps

For the first time since scd started, has D with blood. She lost her

appetite. We have her back on the intro diet and will for several days to

see how she responds.

The doctor will see her tomorrow.and probably give her more Prednisone and

increase Mercaptopurine.

Anyone can tell me whether we should continue with the diet, is it good even

with those medications?

Anya,

Yes you need to continue with SCD. It is a long road and even after a year on

SCD I ended up in hospital and on high doses of prednisone. I am much better now

and can hold my own quite well but it took time. Bleeding is not uncommon and

unfortunately it can be one of the last symptoms to go. I have been on SCD for

almost 6 years and it is just the last 1 1/2 years that I have not bled.

Keep up the good work and keep the faith. There will come better times. :)
