,

one of the symptoms of chronic pancreatitis is that your enzyme levels

don't always elevate. This is because the pancreas is so damaged that it

can no longer produce enough enzymes to reach normal levels, let alone

elevated levels. If you want some documentation to back this up, please

go to the Hopkin's GI website. I'll include the URL to the exact

spot that states that enzyme levels are not always elevated.

http://hopkins-gi.nts.jhu.edu/pages/latin/templates/index.cfm?pg=disease3 & organ=\

4 & disease=24 & lang_id=1 & pagetype=10 & pagenum=254

If the link doesn't work, copy and paste the whole string (including any

text that may wrap to the next line) and paste it into your browser.

The information you are looking for it in the first sentence on this

page. I also recommend reading all the infrormation that this website

has to offer on pancreatitis. It is very informative. If you move your

cursor to the right over the " Select a Section " text, a pull down menu

will show up. I suggest visiting all fo the sections available there.

I also agree that you might want to see a doctor who specializes in the

pancreas and has treated several people with chronic pancreatitis. Hope

you are having a pain free day.
