Guest guest
Hi Liz: I am doing fine. Getting ready to give a farewell party at my house on Saturday for a couple that are moving to Yakima Washington. Have a Dr. appt this afternoon to set up a colonoscopy at the hospital....Ugh oh blinkin ugh........ Then have an appt in July to see the Rheumatologist (sp?) that is coming to town from Virginia Mason Hosp in Seattle. The flare that I experienced is gone now, although I still have a strange sensation sometimes on the left side of my face and head. The Dr. said my chlorestrial was up to 280 something and I had better start watching my diet for three months and see if it will come down. I refused to take the pill so we will see if I can bring it down naturally. Boomer is doing good and recouperated from his surgery to remove stones in his bladder and uretha. He is still on a special diet also. Hard giving the other two treats and not him, so give him a baby food jar filled with cooked rice, that seems to satisfy him and have the other two drooling over it. My hubby has the boat in the water now at the harbor and ready to go Halibut fishing when we get time off and the weather cooperates. The flowers are starting to take ahold in the garden so it looks like summer has finaly arrived in Juneau. Take care Liz and thanks for the email Ethel, Effo or FO
Guest guest
Liz, the same thing happened to me while I was on many different cholesteral drugs. The muscles were a mess. I can't take the statins. I'm sure someone will send us the recipes of the garlic, fish oils etc. LOL I just bought some 1 pound weights and have been working my arms slowly for the fibro. I really think that it is helping along with the neurontin. Thanks for the book title. I will have to check it out. You just rest a bit and don't try to do to much too fast. hugs

YOu rest and take care > > hugs > > I think we are all getting over our jet lag, although they say it takes up to three weeks, but I think the worst is over. I went to see the rheumy last week, and my cpk levels (I think that is what he said) are up, and he says it causes muscle pain and cramps, so knock off the Lipitor for a while. What was that combination of kyolic garlic and ?fish/flax oils that people were talking about? My cholesterol is still up even WITH Lipitor. My sed rate was up to 45, not as bad as it can be, but not as good as it could be. I don't really want to up my pred though! I woke up this morning and thought. oh, my back is sore, oh my hips are sore, oh moan moan. Then I thought NO, get up and do something, so I went to the gym, did half an hour on the elliptical machine (no impact) and some weights, and although it was hard to begin with I felt much better. WHICH REMINDS ME I MUST SEND THE MONEY FOR THE EXERCISE! Speaking of work outs I read in Shape magazine (which I love) it said that sufferers from fibromyalgia can benefit from weight work. They suggested to start, choosing a weight that you would be comfortable doing ten reps with, but only do five, A Dr Rooks, of the Harvard Institute of Medicine had 15 women do progressively harder aerobic, flexibility and strengthe training for one hour, three times a week. After 20 weeks they had less pain, fatigue and depression, and also slept better. Also, Dr Wallace, who is my rheumy's partner has written a book called All About Fibromyalgia, it is available at Amazon .com or any major bookstore. I think he is pretty good, and has a good reputation among other doctors, so if any of you fibromyalgia sufferers are looking for info try it.
