Guest guest
Hi , I hope you managed to get some sort of sleep. I know exactly what you are going through. When I read your posts, it brings tears to my eyes, because I remember to well, when I was in your shoes. I have to say, at least you have this board and good recommendations to good doctors. When I was going through my " breaking point " , I still hadn't heard of this board or of Dr. Lehman. Had I had that knowledge 2 years ago, I would have chosen to see him first. But, it did work out because I finally did find this board and also Dr. Lehman. He is very knowledgeable, will tell you like it is, and will not turn to walk out of the room until you are done speaking!! He lets you finish talking before he comments, and he also has some compassion. I know that a knowledgeable doctor is great but one who seems to care, also is the tops on my list. I am sure you will get in soon. When I called, they scheduled me in 3 weeks. I thought that was pretty good. The nurses also recommended that I schedule an ERCP for the following day just in case he wanted to do one. You can always cancel if he feels it is not necessary. I think that Dr. Lehman knows that alot of us (pancreas patients) come to him after having many failed doctor stories. I guess he is used to going over many records from many other doctors who were just unable to diagnose or help us. I travelled 5 hours to see him. Before that, I travelled 15 hours to a doc in Philly,PA (recommendation from a friend). To tell you the truth, I would travel 3 days if necessary , just to get the care from Dr. Lehman. But remember this is just my personal experience and my personal opinion. I sure hope you get some sort of relief soon, whether it be pain control or simply just the fact of knowing what is going on. That is what Dr. Lehman has done for me. He has given me more knowledge, and a better understanding of what is going on, and also tries hard to see that I am comfortable with pain control. Let me know as soon as you find out when your appt is. I hope you are feeling alittle better today (with your pain and emotions). Please know that you are headed to a better place with your problems. Remember to gather any and all of your medical records and/or er visits, and ERCP,MRCP,CT films. You can email me if you like. Sorry for the long post. I just wanted to let you know that you are headed in the right direction. Take care Kris in TN
