His sinuses looked awful, so we're scheduled for sinus surgery, new PE tubes (3rd set), and a tonsillectomyon Hanuary 14th. (Ironically, this is the very day this year that we found out about Emma's CF!) We're also having a couple interesting things that I'm unfamiliar with . . . a cilia biopsy and BAL- Bronchial A___?__ Lavage. These are to check for pseudomonas in the lungs. Our ENT told us that if on had PA in his lungs, he would be treated in the same manner as a CF child, regardless of test results. I was really unclear as to whether that meant a dx, regardless of tests, or just CF-like treatments. Anyway. . . we're still holding our breath and saying our prayers. I can't imagine dealing with all this doubly! It is a bit overwhelming. OH, well. We just have to wait & see! , Mom of Emma, 6 wcf & on 3, waiting for DNA test results I don't understand because if they are siblings it should be easy for them to detect the CF gene.
