Guest guest
Thanks to each for the timely responses and for the encouragement. We are giving the charcoal in dark sippy cups! All three children are getting epsom salt baths (2xday for ages 7 and 4 a 1xday for 22mos old). My eldest is scratching at his rash on his hips and lower back, which has also broken out on his lower abdomen and he was crying cause " it burns " . He asked me to put lotion, I used cetaphil and it hurt. If I make the lotion with epsom salts, will it sting? (Thanks Patti, for the link!) My 4yr old is still complaining of headaches. Last night both she and her little brother had their first b.m. since starting the diet-Yeah! But big brother has not been able to go in spite of prune juice/o.j. per Elaine's sight which we tried 2x today. Today they all ate " pancakes " made of egg and strained butternut squash. They loved them! Should I have given the squash unstrained to help with constip? Hope I didn't defeat the purpose. He has such huge sensory issues that a glycerin suppository may not be an option. Where (and what form) do we give magnesium citrate? He won't even try to sit on the toilet and I'm worried. We stopped giving banana. Now I've got a ton of bananas in all different stages of ripeness! Is there anything scd legal we can do about his nasal drip and constant throat clearing? (day and night) He had this problem long before starting scd, but it's out of control now. We used to use dye-free benadryl, but it's got sorbitol. He seems especially irritated any time he drinks (diluted juice, water warm or cool). May be it's all just part of his sensory difficulty. There were fewer meltdowns today. The two older ones still look so very pale and tired. It sure is great to see them eat with gusto, though. They eat things now they would never have tried before. Dana-we are holding off on goatmilk yogurt as we are nervous about casein and allergies. We got the Kirkman acidophilus, but are not sure when to begin.
