Guest guest
Suzanne, Please tell us what you are feeding Calida. Are you doing chelation at the same time? Chelation may bring regressions and obscure the benefits of SCD. Any supplements with illegals in them? I strongly recommend that you try the SCD yogurt. It may bring dramatic improvements. All the best,Mimi > Hi everyone, > > It has been a while since I posted. My 10 year old has been on SCD, > dairy-free, for almost a year now. Guest guest
Although I am fairly new to this diet, only one month, I would like to share my thoughts. Prior to going on SCD, I was on an anti-candida diet for years with no real success. Not until I got off the rice and began eating the homemade yogurt did I begin to improve. But this is for an adult, who has been underweight for years. Also, I added the MB12 nasal spray and it seems to be doing wonders as well. barb > > Hi everyone, > > It has been a while since I posted. Guest guest
My son craves egg so... much. Does that mean it's toxic for him? I just keep on feeding him egg as it is SCD legal. Any suggestions for that would be really helpful. Guest guest
He is on SCD for more than a month now. I do not give him more than 4 eggs a day. But he wants it for every meal. He does not want to eat anything else, takes me to kitchen, points to the refridgerator and says egg. We have to divert him into something else like TV and feed him. Guest guest
I don't think that four eggs a day is terrible. He is eating other foods even though you have to distract him while he's eating them, so that's good. Usually, one would be concerned if a child is only really wanting one certain food. Like Patty has said in some other posts today, it's usually a red flag. I don't know if it would be so with eggs. Help from a moderater, please. Guest guest
Jeyanthi, I think this is fine.... at least for now. He has only been on the diet for one month. It may be that there is something in the eggs..... the easy-to-digest protein? the sulphur? .... that is very healing to his gut right now, and he instinctively knows this makes him feel better. I would not be concerned for right now.... I think he will slowly begin to accept more other foods and be more balanced as time goes by. Will he accept meals where you have mixed other foods in WITH the eggs? There is a great recipe for " Egg Foo Yung " on the www.pecanbread.com website. Guest guest
That's a good question! We thought he did not have yeast as two of his comprehensive stool analysis reported no yeast!! But now when we got his metabolic panel test result and it seems like he does have yeast issue. We are treating his bacterial dysbiosis with Biocidin. Woud that cause yeast to raise? This also makes me think about the hyperactivity. He used to be very hyperactive, but after going SCD he calmed down. I see little bit of hyperactivity again now. Is hyperactivity symptom of yeast too...? Guest guest
Jeyanthi, Biocidin is NOT LEGAL on SCD. How long have you been using that? This will impede progress you might have hoped to make on SCD. There are natural antifungals you can use on SCD... but Biocidin is not one of them. It contains some herbs that are not allowed. Sorry! Why not treat his " bacterial dysbiosis " with SCD and legal probiotics? Patti Re: Re: thinking of going off scd That's a good question! Guest guest
Dear Jeyanthi: Have you tried giving him the electrolyte solution. The recipe is on pecanbread.com This really works well for constipation. Onions can cause a problems for constipation. Cooked prunes also really get things moving too but I really like the way the electrolyte solution works. I have had chronic constipation my whole life, drinking this seems to get my muscles working better. Eileen Brown Re: Re: thinking of going off scd > > > Patti, > > I don't see any adverse symptoms. Guest guest
Good to know! I had this doubt in my mind because since I started biocidin he started having the constipation again. I thought that could be die-off reaction...But I had stopped biocidin for that reason and started this again just 2 weeks back. I'm already supplementing him with kirkman's probiotic(hope that is legal!). would that be enough to handle the bacteria/yeast and I need not use any antifungals? I appreciate your help. Guest guest
Jeyanthi, There are legal anti-fungals you can use.... grapefruit seed extract is one, oil of oregano, fresh garlic and that is especially good when combined with fresh carrot juice (juiced right into the chute with the carrots). Coconut oil is also anti-fungal. I think there are others, too.... I am about to run out the door, so cannot go on longer right now. With the natural anti-fungals, they say it's best to rotate them.... so the yeast will not become resistant. Yes, the Kirkman's probiotic is fine..... IF you are just using their acidophilus only. No other strains. Patti Re: Re: thinking of going off scd > > > That's a good question! We thought he did not have yeast as two of his > comprehensive stool analysis reported no yeast!!
