Flo,

Reading your post...don't ever feel guilty. Thank God this went well for you.

We all must go forward on this journey with understanding that we've made a

choice. We've made a choice regardless of the out come. We've made the choice

that to us, it's worth the risks. You have to have the mind set that no

matter what happens, we made the choice. If it's important enough to go

through with MGB knowing there can be negative results. Then it's important

for us to go through the pain of dealing with the negative...and going

through the joy of dealing with the positive. I commend all of you that are

post-ops for sharing the good with us.... and having the decency to share the

bad. I've made the choice that this is what I want. And the good out weights

the bad...(no pun intended!) I hope someday I'll be able to share my

experiences...good or bad.

Some can't quite understand that no one chooses to have complications and

problems. They think there is some wrong-doing on the part of the person with

problems. I think it's fear-based...they want this so badly that they just

don't want to look at the down side. You scare them with your honesty perhaps

and their need to feel that this surgery is a miracle and is THE answer. They

want to see Dr. Rutledge as their savior and anything negative at all scares

them that he is what he really is...a human being with all the flaws that we

all have. They want him to be perfect.

At times I feel guilty that this has gone so well for me. I wish it could be

another way for you, that you could feel " a part " , because there are some

incredible people on the list and I think that some would offer love and

support if they could just get past their own desperation and fear.

I hope you find a doc that you are happy with and who can solve your

problems. I know you went into this with the same hopes and dreams that I

did. I wish you had had a different outcome.

I just read your post and it was wonderful. As most know I am one of

the few people who has complications as a result of the MGB. As much

as I want to " fit in " with the groups, I can't. No one wants someone

to rain on their parade. Your post certainly helped me to feel better

and I just wanted to say thanks.

Hi Beth,

Listen to Flo....what she says is true. It's not your fault, and like it

or not our MGB education process will continue for the rest of our lives unless

we stick our heads in the sand. The MGB is not perfect and no one on this list

is perfect. I think we feel a bit helpless when it comes to offering our

assistance. The best we can offer is our support and we haven't done a very good

job of that. I'm sorry things have been so bad for you. I want you to know that

I'm here for you.

Love,

Genz
