Guest guest
, post nasal drip from the sinus can cause coughing. could she have a sinus infection? or it could be allergy related? ANOTHER COUGH I cant believe it, 10 days post IV's and Eilish is starting a cough. I know nothing was growing. Her voice sounds 'thick' and her cough sounds upper airways. I know my sinuses has been bad these past few days so maybe its that with her. Can a cough be caused by a sinus problem? She has clinic Monday and hopefully it will all settle before then. I'll scream if they let her out to early and we have to start IV's again. I tried to call the hsp. to ask what to give her to clear up sinus problems, but the pulmonary registrar on duty I refuse to talk to unless a emergency so I will call back tomorrow and speak with one of the others. Eilish is a very good little nurse I had to get her to put drops in my eyes as I couldn't do it myself and no one else was here. She did a great job and I think she loved being the doer not the one receiving meds. She was a Angel in there end of school play today. Only 3 days left till for our school for this school year and ours don't go back till 2nd February. So if by mid January I have gone bonkers that's why. BARBARA-Is Kristy at High School yet? I hope all goes well for the sinus surgery this week. Let us know what ward she is in. (Australia)
Guest guest
, It's nice that your children have a month+ off. I wish that our children had two smaller breaks, rather than three months off in the summer. If we had a month off in the winter, maybe we could avoid some of the flu bugs. Guest guest
That's a brilliant idea. Why don't we start to ask our school boards. I remember awhile back, they went the other way & had summer schedules & winter schedules. It was supposed to utilize the schools all year round. It sure made it hard for families with multiply ages in their children for day care, etc..........It was cancelled shortly after it started. But something like this would be really helpful to many just my ole opinion. LOVE & HUGS, GrandmomBEV Re: ANOTHER COUGH , It's nice that your children have a month+ off. Guest guest
Some of the public schools in Texas tried to do a pilot program like that. Needless to say Texas won't do it across the board because they found out it actually cost them too much to try to keep the buildings cool enough during our nasty summers. Besides who can think when it gets over 100? Dawn mom of 4, 7 and under, the youngest wcf
Guest guest
Ainslie's main issues are sinus and almost always any lung involvement is sinus related. If Elish blows her nose and the cough is relieved then it is probable that it is sinus related. Saline spray in the sinuses can help to relieve any prolems. Remember to take the tip out of the nose so as not to draw 'buggy' air back into the container and contaminating the saline. Another thing that we use is Livostin - it is an antihistime nasal spray. This also seems to work for Ainslie and is not going down the steroid path. One thing that we do and sometimes Ainslie even requests it, is take a small vial of saline and basically flood her nose getting her to sniff at the same time. Yes this is a bit gross but it does clear the nasal passages well. Like I said sometimes Ainslie even asks me to do it for her even though it is disgusting. Hope this helps.
