United Healthcare Insurance Appeal

Our United Heathcare policy does not cover cranial banding, but we have been

encouraged to file an appeal. After looking over the policy, I have found the

exclusion in several different places (both in the Exclusions and Limitations

section and as a special note under Covered Services - for both Durable Medical

Equipment and Reconstructive Procedures). Given that they seem to have listed

cranial banding as an exclusion throughout the summary of coverage, is there any

chance an appeal would be successful? I can't find anything in the policy that I

could use in my appeal...because they've specifically listed cranial banding as

an exclusion in several different sections.

If anyone has experience with a United appeal, please let me know. I'm at a loss

as to how to proceed.
