Guest guest
Hi all, I was on the intro diet for only one day at the beginning of the week. I had lots of problems with the intro foods, and couldn't continue for even a second day. Now I am very discouraged, and afraid that I can't try the diet, because I can't do the intro diet or slow food introduction right. I have Interstitial Cystitis (a constantly painful bladder condition), and there are many things I cannot eat (or drink) because of this condition. I found that the chicken soup aggravated my IC considerably. Also, the vanilla in the cheese cake did the same. And, I already knew that cheese is a problem with my gastro problem, which is severe C not D. So between the DCCC for breakfast and the cheese cake, it was too much for me. I can't eat the jello or drink apple cider because of my bladder condition. So all I am left with is plain chicken (not soup) and eggs (and the yogurt too although, If I understand correctly that shouldn't be eaten in large quantities right away). So, I don't have enough to make it through a couple of days on the intro. Plus, since foods are supposed to be introduced slowly, one at a time for a few days per food, It will take a long time before I have enough to eat in a day (I can't do any nut baking, due to allergy, and there are a great many fruits I can't eat because of Interstitial Cystitis). In spite of my gastro problems I do have a regular appetite, and if I get too hungry I get very dizzy, lightheaded and nauseous (I have been tested for diabetes, and I don't have it). The only alternative I can think of is to jump right into eating meals made only made from legal ingredients that don't affect my Interstitial Cystitis, but I know that's not how the diet is supposed to be followed. I just don't know what to do now.
