Guest guest
Dr. R, You need to put this one on the website so that you won't be asked a zillion times. It is such a common concern. Guest guest
Dear Shelly, My only piece of advice is this. Whatever surgery you have, there are no guarantees. You have very strict 'requirements' or wishes, and it sounds as though anything less will be considered a failure. You are setting yourself up for the chance of overwhelming disappointment. Think long and hard about this. I know I have personally made a readjustment in my mind and attitude. I want to reach my goal of 144, which would be a loss of 110 pounds, give or take. But if I get into the 100's, I am going to be a happy camper. If the day ever comes, and I beleive it will, that I can dance, really dance, once again, I will be smiling so brightly that everyone on that dance floor will need sunglasses! Every pound beyond that will be a gift, unexpected and profoundly welcome. And, in the worst possible scenario, where my losses never get me below that 200 mark, I will know that I've done all that I could, and I will love every day I have with the people who mean the world to me, and I will make the best of it. These are my promises to myself. Please consider a thought readjustment. With your best interest in my heart . . . PhillyJude
Guest guest
Shelly, We practicually twins, I'm 5'2 " and I weigh 335.. My bmi is 61... I'm pre-op and hoping to be going early Nov. I've been logging on here for about 1 month (solid) and I have found out that most people have lost even more than they thought they could. In other words, if they wanted to loose down to 190 they probably lost to 150.. Hey, won't bother me none, how 'bout you? Trudy, Indiana pre-op a question I have a question that I heretofore, have not asked. Have any post-ops who needed to lose 175-200 pounds actually lost all of that weight? My ultimate weight loss desired is 190-200 then have excess skin removed and I will be at my best weight for my frame. I am 5'2 " and 330 pounds. I am approved now and ready to set the date. My daughter is also seeking approval and I feel I must research everything especially well as it is not just affecting me. My concern is of course the safest surgery with the least possible short term and long term complications. But, I also want a surgery that will with my compliance get me down to an appropriate weight. Thanks in advance for your time to those who answer my question. Guest guest
Me too!.. I have wondered about this. I have BMI of 61. I haven't seen too many BMI's in the 60's. I hope some of the former " 60's " crowd can respond to this question. That is if they remember the " 60's " . , Denver, NC, MGB hopeful for January > Shelly, > We practicually twins, I'm 5'2 " and I weigh 335.. My bmi is 61... I need to print this off and let my husband read it so that when I am acting crazy he can understand why. Thanks.
