Guest guest
Bob, thank you for the update on . Gosh I hope she gets to feeling better now that they have her on new meds. I was just started on the neurontin today. Hopefully it will make me sleep too. Do you happen to know how much she takes. I also didn't know about the vinegar. I do drink some daily. I know it sounds gross, but really helps with a lot of stuff. LOL (I mix with water) I know about the ins. co. Boy makes you want to scream huh? Let her know that I'm thinking of her and that you both are in my thoughts and prayers hugs
Guest guest
of La did get back from the Mayo Clinic. They checked her over very closely and Dr. Luthra says she does indeed have relapsing polychondritis and it needs to be better controled. She has been on 45-60 mg of zone daily and 5 2.5 mex per week for over 4 months with no improvement and constant pain, so he recommmed Cellcept as an alternative to the mex...since she had elevated AST levels...she also has diabetes which would account for some of the weakness, and slow healing, i think. she started on the new med this week,so we will see what happens. also they increased her nerontin and now she is very sleepy...one interesting thing they told her to do was to wash the ears and sore places on her skin with vinegar....she says that vinegar does better than all those expensive antibotic creams!! so we keep on hoping and praying for everyone. I think her computer is broke and the disablilty check is in the mail...that is another story..insurance companies are so interesting, the short term they paid quickly but long term it is taking almost three months to get started...at least they said the check was in the mail...i guess they think that bills quit coming when you are sick... bob lindsay __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Tell that I am glad she was able to get some help at the Mayo. I am looking forward to talking to her since I feel like we are neighbors. My Dr. told me we need to move to Arizona because the weather in Southeast Texas is bad for sinuses and whatever. And she is around the corner. I would love to give her a call but dont know how. Tell her to call me collect at 409-9620962 if she ever wants to talk or needs anything. The Mayo is my next stop if this doesnt get any better.Give her a hug from me when you see her and tell her to just hang in there. Prayers and hugs,
