Guest guest
I am so glad that you found this board and please stay while and soak up some good information. Remember the old saying " knowledge is power " ... I too, can relate to your story. All my horrendous pain started after my gallbladder surgery. Within hours upon waking, I was in severe pain and ill. The doctor who did my surgery then, came by the next morning and said " I see you had a rough night " . He had absolutely no idea how bad it was, and I was completely clueless to what was happening also. Now that I have lots of knowledge behind me, I can see the pattern of pain and whether or not my enzymes were elevated, I knew I was having an attack of panreatitis again, and again. The er would refuse to give me pain meds if the enzymes were not elevated. Anyway, it has been a long 6 year haul, but I have finally found a great doc (Dr. Lehman), and he believes my pain and has done testing and tells me to take pain meds at home and stay away from the er. I think he realizes that the more time patients spend going to the er, the more they start to doubt themselves. The doctors all say, if the enzymes aren't elevated then there is no pancreatitis going on. Many of us here, know all to well, that is simply not true. I hooe you have a very short journey in finding a good doctor to work with. Please let us know how you are doing. Take care Kris in TN
