Guest guest
there seems to be a big increase over nail associated infections over the last year or so the infection is in fact biofilm, that is bacteria as well as fungal and maybe a virus as well, the bacteria seem protect the fungus/yeast from antifungals a bit you will have to come at it from a number of angles, possibily povidine iodine, maybe collidal silver applied to the skin, daktarin topical solution systemically she may be low vit d and iodine and keeping the toes dry you can have it analysed to see what exactly is int here in terms of bacteria and fungus, i don't think they are able to see what the viruses are but in fact its better just to try things and see what works if something works it works fairly rapid like a hours to make a detectable improvement > > Dear List: > > My 8 year old daughter developed this itchy spot on both of her big toes (right at the end of the nail but on the skin closest to the second toe). Its in the same exact location on both toes. I have gone to see a dermatologist, primary and now a podiatrist. The itchy spot seems to be unusal and they have not been able to get rid of it with topical antifungals. I am thinking about asking for diflucan. I have been putting loprox on it twice daily for over 3 months, it seems to keep it from growing into a bump and then blistering but it never goes away and always itches. I tried to do the houston digestive enzymes last March. I gave them to my daughter gradually increasing the dosages of no fenol, pepitizide and zyme prime for almost a month and a half. They made her super hyper so I discontinued but it was during this time that these itchy toes developed. Has anyone had a similar experience? Should I start giving her the enzymes again to get rid of it? I think she has yeast issues, could the enzymes have some how cause a die off, which somehow caused this toe infection? Is this farfetched or are am I on the right track? Thank you for your input. I am totally getting frustrated. The podiatrist just prescribed another cream and it doesn't seem to be helping but its only been 2 1/2 days. Guest guest
Dear Charlene and : Thank you so much for your responses. I, too, have a feeling its coming from the inside out but the doctors always look at me suspect when I bring this up. I had serious problems with thrush when I was nursing both of my children. So I suspect they both may have yeast issues. I have never had them tested. I have been on the diet since 12/04 but my daughters have only been on SCD since 9/05. We were having alot of infractions too around Easter (2-3 weeks of rebelling and wanting to get off diet) They are troopers and went back on when they realize it was hurting their stomach. This is also when we started doing the Houston's digestive enzymes. , I am going to try what you have suggested. I have tried antibacterial creams but not when I was also doing antifungals. I will try povidine iodine, collidal silver applied to the skin, daktarin topical solution. I am also thinking about trying tea tree oil. Should I ask the doctor for diflucan? Nystantin? or should I try any over the counter oral antifungals? I thought about trying a digestive enzyme aimed at yeast? My daughter is 8 years old, around 65lbs? She is currently taking cod liver oil at dinner. I was just thinking I need to start supplementing her with iodine because the sea salt we use does not have any and we haven't been eating as much seafood as usual. I eat crabmeat at least three to six meals a week but she's been rejecting the crabmeat. She eats fish about once a week sometimes twice. The iodine supplements I have and which I have given to her in the past is kelp (which you said on your webpage is ineffective, iodine antiseptic. I also have Dulse which I have not given her. I haven't given her Dulse because I have not had the opportunity to check if all the ingredients are SCD compliant. I was never able to find the one you recommended over the internet or at any of our local supplement stores. Thanks again for all your input. Guest guest
crustaceans like shellfish and prawns have surprisingly high levels of arsenic which interfers with selenium which interfers with T4 to T3 thyroid hormone conversion fish has mercury and i have found it better not to eat either fish, crustaceans or shellfish 'crabmeat' of the processed kind has starch fillers in cod liver oil also appears to have issues so i use fish oil duflican and nysatin are toxic if they cross a leaky gut into the blood don't use or eat any seaweeds , they are scd illegal from the gum point of view i would really get onto iodine, you may have thyroid issues yourself > > Dear Charlene and : > > Thank you so much for your responses.
