Guest guest
Hello, My islet cell transplant was done 2 yrs ago by Dr. Sutherland. Since then I have had a bowel obstruction which required surgery 6 months ago. Then 2 wks ago I had a partial bowel obstruction which landed me in the hospital for a week. While I was in there they noticed that I had pneumobilia (air in the biliary tract). Doing some searching on my own I discovered there is quite a coincidence between pneumobilia and bowel obstruction (this could be due to the fact that we are re-plumbed and the flap allows gases from our intestines up into our liver). Does anyone else have this problem? I get the same old pancreatitis type pain for a week or two prior to the bowel obstruction. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Would love to hear from you. Thanks, Kathy Beck
