Guest guest
Hi everyone Here I am with another question or two. I'll be seeing my Rheumy this Friday and want to address something’s happening to me and since I have always been the type no to completely tell a doctor how I feel I don't want to sound like I'm on a witch hunt asking him questions regarding RP. Soooooo pleas help me out here. 1. Has anyone had their cheek..like just below the eye look like someone had slapped the crap out of you. My ring cheek looks a little swollen and although it isn't right now did turn red and become very warm. 2. Now here's another one and don't laugh Now we have all heard about telling someone not to let their head swell. Well something else happens to me and this too isn't all the time. From time to time my glasses feel like they are too tight for me. So tight that they leave an impression on the side of my head where they go around the ears. Sorta hurts when it gets this way. Looks like my face or head has swollen which is causing my glasses to become to tight some times. 3. Define a flare..I mean if your face, nose, neck, or even ears turn bright red and become very hot..let's say for 10 min, 1hour, 4 hours etc. would this be considered a flare? I just don't know if short term or long term is used to call something like this a flare. Heck I had a sore throat for one day and it was really bad, but then went away. Don't know if that was a sore throat. I have little things like that which seem to come on quickly and go away just as quickly or can stay with me for a day or two. I would like to go into my Rheumy's office knowing that I can talk intelligently. Thanks and hugs Sharyn

I went and got new frames for my glasses, thinking that my old ones were too small due to the pred. Well, my new ones get tight too. And yes it does hurt. LOL And I have impressions all over. LOL Boy I must look cute. LOL About a flare. We are all so different. For me, my flares usually start in my ears, nose or ribs. I have been given permission to raise my pred at the first sign of a flare. And believe me I do. I don't wait even an hour. It seems like it has been my ribs mostly. My ears and nose have been behaving themselves really well. Mine seems to last forever if I don't stop them with the pred. This is just my experience. Hope you are feeling better. LEt us know what you find out. hugs
Guest guest
HI SHARYN, IN REFERENCE TO FACE PROBLEM, WHEN RP STARTED ACTING UP ON ME, MY EARS WOULD GET SWOLLEN AND MY NOSE EVEN MORE I DID NOT NOTICE UNTIL THE RIMS OF MY EYE GLASSES WOULD LEAVE MY FACE MARKED, THE EYE GLASSES WOULD FIT TIGHTER EVERY TIME, AFTER A PERIOD OF TIME WITH THIS PROBLEM , THE EYE GLASSES WOULD JUST FALL OFF I DID NOT NOTICE ANY CHANGE UNTIL MY SISTER NOTICE THAT MY NOSE WAS COMPLETELY DEFORMED AS IT IS CALLED A SADDLE NOSE, NOW MY NOSE CAN NOT HOLD ANY TYPE OF EYE WEAR.
