Guest guest
Hello Friends, I did it!! I danced!! I went in for surgery around 6:00 pm yesterday. My surgery lasted 32 minutes, and the doc said everything went great. When I woke up I was in quite a bit of pain. I continued to hit the " pain " button and it did help some. Around 12am I started gettin nauseaus (sp) and I dry heaved a few times. The nurses jumped right on it and gave me some relief meds. Around 3am I got up and started to walk around, hoping the more I walked the more gas I would get rid of. I continued to walk in about 30 minute intervals, this did help some. By 9:00 this morning I felt alot better, not as groggy but still quite a bit of pain. I had my IV taken out around 11am. I walked a few more times around, and decided I would go home at 1pm. I am now at home and the pain is getting better. It almost feels like I did about 200 sit-ups. I havent been hungry at all and I have not had anything except sips of Gatorade all day. I may try some broth tommorow. For those of you who have given me their thoughts and prayers, thank you. I am relieved I made it safely on the other side. Good Luck to all the ladies that we going in today...You all are in my prayers. Guest guest
, Congrats to you girl! One word of advice though. Make yourself eat! I had surgery on Friday and it has taken over a week for me to get some strength back. Dr. R said I wasn't eating enough. Isn't that funny! NEver thought I would have anyone, much less a doc tell ME that! LOL Continued sucess! Guest guest
Dear Congrats on your surgery! Did you dance the macarena or a waltz? I'm glad everything went well for you. I am a newbie and am in the process of getting my packet together for Dr. Rutledge. My doctor will have his letter done by next week and when I pick it up I will send my packet in. I am an RN, am 39 yo, BMI 58 and weight 340. Girl I cannot tell you how beat up I feel after a 12 hr. shift. Sometimes I just want to call 911 and have them give me a lift to my car in the employee parking lot. Tell me how you picked Dr. Rutledge, what did you feel right before having your surgery, how you are feeling now, what are you eating, tell me whatever you want. Where did you stay while in Durham? what was the hospital like and how were the nurses and the care you received? May I use you as a contact? Please email me and update me as to how you are doing. Please feel free to email me at: vivienrn@.... I would appreciate all the info and advice you can pass on. Continued success, Vivienne, RN I have finally Danced!! > Hello Friends, > > I did it!! Guest guest
Congrats !!! So happy you made it!!! Do you live near Durham to be home so quick? I live an hour from Durham (backroads) and I am trying to decide how long I should stay in Durham after the MGB. I would hate to come home to soon and have something go wrong. I live in Ruffin / Reidsville. My dh says he can't get a week off anytime soon ;<( So I may have to wait to Jan. !!!! YUCK!! Keep us posted on your progress! cindy
