There are a fair number of non-branded locally made bands. The home page baby

(Ian) apparently wore a local band with a chin strap before switching to another

band (star I think).

Could have been an off-the-shelf (not custom made) Danmar helmet. It has no

holding points, a huge opening and a chin strap. Check out this link to see the
