Guest guest
I know that some of you know my war stories so I will be brief...many ERCP's, pain, tubes and nausea and the list goes on. Last summer I had the whipple and have been on a pcapump that follows me everywhere giving me didlaudid. Turns out I have autoimmune CP, minus 1/3ird of my panc.. This summer my colon gave out thus I just went thru having most of my colon removed and my small intestine attatched to my poop shoot as I call it. Anyway, everyone said they would take care of me, my pain and nausea. NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Dr. refused to advance the narcotics and the pain was out of this world. The Dr. made comments such as I was obssessed with didlaudid, and any other med. to give me some releif. Phenergan, which I use frequently, also helps with pain. That was put on my list of more obssession for medicine. I needed to get out of that hospital so fast. I just pray that the nursing group knows what they are doing and are taking good care of me. I don't think this Dr. wants to treat me if I end up having an infection. I have never been so scared because the Pancreas was on fire, and my stomach was in so much pain, and the Dr. sent me home without any antibiotics. I thought that was a bit strange. I just pray that I heal, and my colostomy closes perfectly, and I can go on with my life. Before this operation my quality of life was very poor. I am so scared!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guest guest
Oh Paget, You are definitely in my prayers that your healing continues with no problems from infection. I'm not surprised that you are scared. Anyone would be with that kind of treatment. If you show any signs of problems, go to a different hospital and explain that the previous hospital was showing a reluctance on treating you and that you were fearful about infections and such. I'd also make a complaint to JCAHO and the state medical board. I wish that there was more I could do to help you, in both your situation and your health, etc. You are definitely in my prayers and keep us informed on how you do when you are able to.
