Guest guest
Dear , Since I've been awol for a few days I just now saw your post about your last doctor's appointment that went bust. The frustration and disillusionment you must have felt after being passed over by this doctor, one that you thought was going to be helpful for you, must be immense. I'm encouraged, though, to see that you've decided to become your own advocate and continue searching for another specialist, even if you have to travel. Oftentimes that's the only thing many of us can do, keep searching until the right one is found. Just the fact that the doctor felt that the Lahey doctor poo-pooed an ERCP as a source for obtaining a dx. makes me think that he couldn't have been too experienced in his field. Although this invasive procedure is often left as a last resort as a diagnostic tool because of it's frequency in causing yet another attack of pancreatitis, it is known to be one of the best diagnostic procedures available, especially when all other tests are non-conclusive. I've not had a chance to read the last few days messages yet, to see if you were able to get an appointment with the GI in Providence, RI, but I hope you have, and I just wanted to tell you that I think you're doing the right thing by looking around for a more experienced specialist. Don't give up hope, you will find the help you need. With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth South Carolina SC & SE Regional Rep.
