Guest guest
They really aren't *technically legal*, for other reasons beyond just the date varieties, in my opinion. Digestive Wellness was not a company that Elaine wholeheartedly endorsed... we've had issues with some of their premade products in the past, from what I remember. I don't ever order anything from them.... I've heard the nut flour is okay. I just wouldn't ever recommend ANY premade product like a snack bar or fruit leather or whatever.... for ANYone who is new to the diet especially... even if it's supposedly legal. patti Lara Bars and multiple dates used - not legal??? I just received a reply to an e-mail asking Lara Bars about the kinds of dates they used. The reply was that they use a variety of dates, not just the majdol variety... I'm so sad to ask... but this means they are not legal, right? I do hope I'm wrong, but have to ask why digestivewellness.com is selling these as SDC legal if other kids of dates are used. Guest guest
Thanks for your replies, Mimi and Patti. It's taken a while, but I'm beginning to get it through my brain that it may just be best to make EVERYTHING from scratch

Unfortunately, as well intentioned as Digestive Wellness apppears to be they have made some errors in offering certain products as SCD compliant. i thought they designated Lara bars as an advanced food. DW is always happy to take direction from us as they strive to be SCD compliant. Elaine had a few issues with them and one would assume they would have gotten up to speed by now. Anyone with a food mill attachment on their juicer or a machine like the Omega can feed in dried fruit and get a firm paste that can be mixed with honey, coconut and nut pieces or dried fruits. This confection is only suitable for those who are very well along or healed in my opinion. Carol F.
