Guest guest
, Tyler started out w/similar symptoms, just couldn't get the cough to go away.Admitted him 12/4 for iv antibiotics.I'm not saying thats the only way to go for now, but they suggested an aggressive approach as to avoid lung damage(he cultured PA and funngus)Has your lil one cultured anything? Also I saw you signeed your 5 yr old has adhd. Can you tell me some signs that led you to believe thats what he's got?Just today i got a referral to have him eveluated for it, and while I'm excited(therapy time is a living hell in my house...neighbors must think I'm beaating him, lol), i'm also scared(msw are so doggone nosey, and i feel my privacy is invaded, but in order to ensure self/family help i'll do it.)Can you fill me in as to what to expect. One more thing, what kind of meds is he on being that he has cf?I dont want Tyler to lose weight.Hes only 25%ile height, and 5%ile weight and always has been since birth.Lord knows i keep gaining trying to get HIM to gain(I ate FOUR donuts today trying to get him to eat a ONE, which might i add he never did...too late now, theyere gone, LOLOL):) Patty, mom to Tyler,8,wcf and 2 lil ones wocf > Hi all, is having a hard time lately, he has a cough that just wont > go away, he started out with a nasty junky wet cough, we had him put on > zithromax for a week, he improved slightly. Guest guest
Hi , The jet nebulizer is the same as what you have so you're good there. You can use either nebulizer but I am not sure if they would need to be cleaned in between. My daughter has done albuterol/Intal, pulmozyme, Tobi and pulmicort one following the other before. So yes it is OK. Also I am not saying this is right, but she just shakes out the leftover med and adds the next one. She hasn't gotten sick or anything from it and she is 19 so I let her have at it. When I was " in charge " I made her use different nebs and cleaned them all after every use. sigh. As for asymptomatic asthma the doc sounds nuts. If he is wheezing it is symptomatic. So I am with you on that one. Also why would the doc prescribe pulmicort if he is " asymptomatic " ? Makes no sense. Is this his CF doc or pedi? good luck, M

My son acted did well behaviorally on the smallest dose of Ritalin except he wasn't going to bed until 11 to 12 at night and he wan't eating at all. He is now on 40 mg of Strattera. He is sleeping much better but he is not eating as much as I wished he would eat. He hasn't gained any weight in a year. jan
