Guest guest
<<I would be very careful about this. I saw on a show called " Medical Incredible " on the Discovery Health Channel that prolonged use of this could cause ones skin to turn gray. This is a permanent side effect. Silver builds up in the body.>> This is only an issue if you were to drink great quantities of colloidal silver every day for a long, long time. I only use it topically.... for cuts and scrapes, for minor eye infections (as an eye wash), sniffed up the nose for sinus infections, dripped into the ear canal for ear infections, gargled for throat infections. I once had a spider bite that started looking really nasty and my first impulse was to apply a cotton square, soaked in colloidal silver, to the bite and leave it for several minutes a couple of times a day. It worked wonders within a short time. You'll see the use of micronized silver in a number of products that are coming out lately.... for it's anti-microbial properties. I've seen food storage containers advertised... that have silver particles imbeded in the plastic. This makes fresh produce and other foods last MUCH longer than any regular storage container. (An idea that is not terribly far removed from the pioneer days, when travelers in covered wagons would toss a silver dollar into the milk bucket, to keep the milk from spoiling. I suppose they had no idea why this worked so well. ) I was out shopping today and saw bed pillows for sale... with silver particles imbeded in the filling fibers. These pillows are reportedly very, very SAFE (no toxic chemicals.... unlike products with Microban, which is basically a pesticide). The silver keeps away any mold or bacteria that might otherwise be present, and it lasts through machine washings. My father bought a Samsung front-loader washing machine this week that has a special silver bar located inside the washing drum. It releases a minute amount of silver particles into each wash load, to reduce bacteria and keep the inside of the washer (and the load of wet wash you forgot to put in the dryer) from getting that " mildewy " smell. The silver bar gets replaced every five years (I think), according to the manufacturer. Anyway.... this is very off-topic, I know... but just wanted to let everyone know that colloidal silver is VERY helpful for many reasons, and is extremely safe, even for use in a baby's eyes.... but I don't advocate drinking it, except maybe in very minor quantities, for a very limited period of time, if at all. I just think it's great for topical use, and I wouldn't be without it in my medicine cabinet. I'm so happy to avoid using antibiotics and/or antibacterial soaps and other products with chemicals. I suspect we'll all be seeing more and more products utilizing the germ-killing power of silver. Do I sound like I sell this stuff or something?? (I don't.... I promise! ) Patti

Guest guest
Anya's Grandmother, I see at the bottom of your email that Anya will be put on prednisone and iron soon. The iron is not allowed on SCD and will cause a whole host of problems. She will need to eat more iron rich foods and avoid the supplement. Go to www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info look under knowledge base and go to iron supplements. Guest guest
I am borderline anemic; without iron I become anemic. I do not eat organ meats. The iron supp I take has nothing " illegal " in it. Is there a problem with this? I'd rather not be anemic as I have enough health problems. Thanks, Michele > > > > colloidal silver is VERY helpful for many reasons > > We used colloidal silver in the molluscum contagiosum in Anya but it > did not work. Guest guest
Michele, could you tell me which is the iron you take? I know the iron prescribed to Anya is illegal so I would love to use a legal one. Anya 4 y.o. UC Dec 2005 SCD May 28th 06 Meds MP6 50 mg. daily and Prednisone > > > > > > > I am borderline anemic; without iron I become anemic. I do not eat > organ meats. Guest guest
She will need to eat more iron rich foods and avoid the > supplement. Yes Charlene, I know it is illegal but although she is but a little bit below because we have been making the chicken broth with chicken liver and we have pureed it with the carrots, her doctor says she must have iron because she will end up anemic with only liver. The thing is that since she was off the Prednisone she had a relapse. She has been having bloody stools now for 3 weeks and real bad tummy aches not withstanding that she has not had illegal food. At first we blamed her father that had her on an empty stomac too many hrs the day he had her a whole day, and did not boil the broth 4 hrs. but then we sent the food from home totally legal, put her on the intro diet but she is still bleeding. The doctor increased MP6 and we were giving it first bite in the morning thought it would be that but the doctor says no it is not that and suggested stopping all dairy which would mean curd and SCD yougurt. We have not paid attention to that yet, she loves it. Mishelle says she has legal iron. We might try that. Thank you for all your help Araceli (Anya's grandmother)
