Guest guest
We are supposed to do midnight doses of enzymes. The doctor who recommended this said we could put enzymes through the button, but they might stick. The reason he said we could try this is because has a mickey button and we keep extra buttons at home. We have to change the button every so often anyway. Sometimes the little balloon holding it in pops, and sometimes it just doesn't seem to be working properly. We usually change it every 2-3 months. Anyway, I don't know if you do this or not. If not, I definately would not recommend putting enzymes in the button. Some of the meds we have put through, like clyndomycin liquid seemed to slow down the milks going in because of the sandy stuff in the med. We have not tried putting enzymes in, as the clyndomycin did cause some problems, I was sure the bigger enzymes would. It might be different, depending on the size. is using a 14 French Mickey Button. Hope this makes sense and helps. Lots of luck..... Guest guest
is on Nutren 2.0 at night. I dont think it has to do with the kind of milk as to whether you need enzymes or not. At first she did not have to take enzymes as often with the milk. We started off taking 2 enzymes before starting the feeding and that was all. Then he added 2 enzymes in the morning when she woke up. Then even later (much later) he added 2 enzymes during the night. This all was due to the fact that she seemed to be having more oily stools and not gaining weight. One more item of interest. I noted some of you talking about oily stools. When was on Pancerase, Pancrecarb, and Creon 5 & 10, she had oily stools of various degrees. Since changing yet again to the now Creon 20 she no longer has oily stools of any kind. When she was on Creon 10 she had a lot of trouble with her stomach. They had to give her golytely several times. I think some enzymes work for some people better than others. I don't know but it sure seems like it at least in s case. Guest guest
The formula can certainly " stand " for 8 hours without a problem. Believe me, we do NOT get up in the middle of the night to feed . His pump runs from 8:30 pm until 5 am at 40 ml/hour. We fill the bag with enough formula at 8:30 and we are done with it. In the summer, if there is no airconditioning the room he is sleeping in it gets a little more complicated, but you can then put a bag with ice or an ice pack around the pump bag. slept in his playroom last summer since it was air-conditioned and his bedroom was not. Good luck, Judith, Steve, (RSS) and (non RSS) 5 3/4 year old twins
