Guest guest
my dentist told me to only give my son juice 1x/day or he will end up having tooth decay. he isn't crazy about the tomato juice or plain water. are there any other bevarage options? i am so afraid my 2 1/2 yr old will get very sick when we start the SCD diet. he is already losing weight because we have eliminated milk and most of his snacks (eg. cornpops, cocoa puffs, rice krispies, potato chips, etc) so all he has to munch on are raisins. we want to try cooking a bunch of the SCD recipes first and freeze some. i will puree some and sneak small amounts of it inside of his jar babyfood (which will be phased out when we start the SCD) and try to introduce a new item every day so we know there will be something we can fall back on when he turns his nose up at pureed spaghetti squash. i am still searching for some of the hard to find ingredients. i still don't know where we will find the dry curd cottage cheese in south carolina or georgia. we have looked at the publix and kroger already with no luck. everytime i buy something, especially generic brands, i start to second guess if it is really legal. for instance, i bought a can of Red Gold brand fresh squeezed tomato juice because it was the cheapest and it only had tomatoes, salt & vitC (ascorbic acid). it also said it had no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. Should i have just bought heinz or campbells? did anyone hire a nutritionist to assist with balancing out the menus? i have 3 month old twin girls and i don't know how i am going to pull this off (researching, planning menus, shopping, cooking, feeding, etc.). i am so afraid i don't have the expertise or time to do this right. i got my pediatrician to refer my son to a nutritionist but what diagnosis code would health insurance require in order to pay for the visits? my son is malnourished and sick and needs immediate intervention but justifying this to my health insurance company may be difficult. eileen mom of 2 1/2 yr old asd son and 3 month old twin girls
